Polish road signs 2026
All categories of Polish road signs with shapes, colours and meaning. Learn to recognise signs for the WORD driving exam and daily driving in Poland. Based on the Polish Minister of Infrastructure Regulation on road signs and signals.
Warning signs
Warn of upcoming hazards. Require extra attention and often reduced speed. About 60 signs (type A).
Warns of a right curve with limited visibility. Slow down.
Triangle pointed downwards. You must yield to vehicles on the priority road. Stop only if needed.
Near schools, kindergartens and playgrounds. Maximum caution.
Exclamation mark. General warning — details usually on plate below.
Prohibition signs
Forbid specific behaviour. Violation = traffic offence + fine. About 50 signs (type B).
Red circle with white horizontal bar. Do not enter a one-way street against direction.
Red octagon with STOP. Mandatory full stop — regardless of whether traffic is approaching.
Two cars in circle, red on right. Cannot overtake multi-track vehicles (motorcycles allowed).
Number in circle = max speed (km/h). Until next cancellation sign or intersection.
Mandatory signs
Require specific behaviour (e.g. direction). About 30 signs (type C).
Arrow up. Cannot turn.
Three arrows forming circle. Entering roundabout. Priority: vehicles already on roundabout.
Bike symbol. Mandatory for cyclists.
Information signs
Inform about objects, roads, situations. Do not require or prohibit. Type D.
Yellow diamond on white. You have priority all along this road — until D-2 (end).
Pedestrian in blue triangle. Pedestrian has priority at crossing.
White P on blue. Parking space — check plates below (fee, time).
House silhouettes. Entering built-up area — auto 50 km/h (if no other sign).
