About the Polish driving exam

The Polish driving theory exam (egzamin teoretyczny) is taken at the Provincial Driving Centre (WORD). It consists of 32 questions drawn from the official base of about 1,800 questions per category. You have 25 minutes (for cat. B) and need at least 68 out of 74 points to pass.

The exam is available in Polish, English, German, Russian and Ukrainian. You select your language when registering at WORD. Foreign nationals (including EU/EEA citizens) can take the test and obtain a Polish driving licence.

Categories

Poland uses standard EU driving licence categories:

• B — passenger car up to 3.5 t (most popular)
• A — motorcycle (any size)
• AM — moped / scooter (from age 14)
• C, C1 — truck (over 3.5 t)
• D, D1 — bus / minibus
• T — tractor (agricultural)
